Although some of the characters have remained almost identical through all four games, others have changed completely.

The Bloody Roar series is a 3D fighting game in the same vein as Tekken, Soulcalibur and Virtua Fighter. A button each for both punch and kick, the beast (transform/attack) button and a fourth button that has been either a throw button, a block button, an evade button (introduced for some characters in Bloody Roar 4) and a rave button (an early version of the Hyper Beast in the original Bloody Roar only). The game would appear under the name " Bloody Roar" when it was ported to the PlayStation in 1998, which would become the permanent title for the series thereafter.īloody Roar has kept somewhat the same controls over the series. Zoanthropes are capable of switching between their human and beast forms. The game incorporates anthropomorphism as its main feature and theme, where the playable characters are Zoanthropes (the name comes from the clinical term, ' zoanthropy', which is similar to lycanthropy), humans who have the ability to transform into half-human, half-animal hybrid creatures (anthropomorphic animals). The series began in 1997 under the name Beastorizer. Konami holds the rights to the franchise after Hudson Soft was absorbed into the former company in 2012. The series has been published by multiple companies including Activision, Konami, and Virgin Interactive. Though on PSN Sony is credited for publishing it on PSN, so perhaps Sony took initiative to add it to PSN with Konami's permission, or Konami contacted Sony to get the game published on PSN.Bloody Roar ( ブラッディロア, Buraddi Roa) is a series of fighting games created by Hudson Soft, and developed together with Eighting. I read that Sony interactive entertainment may have published the games on PS3 PSN, not sure how involved Hudsonsoft was involved with the port, though I think Konami holds the rights to the series even Breakers is getting a collection in 2021. They really should release a Bloody Roar Collection on PS4/PS5. and portable is a good last resort to play each one. and there is no telling if there would be ports of these games on PS4/PS5 later, so its better to get them officially, and they are more enjoyable to play on console than PC. Not sure how long they will be there on PS3 PSN Store, with the arrival of PS5, it would be a good idea for Bloody Roar fans to get Bloody Roar on PS3 and PSP if they have those platforms.

I got them and installed them on PS3 and PSP! these perfect PS1 ports are great cause they also include a digital manual with all the original pages (like all PS3 ps1 ports do)
